Yuri Briar is the secondary antagonist of SPY x FAMILY.
He is voiced by Kensho Ono in Japanese and by Dallas Reid as an adult.
What Makes Him a Shonen Rival?[]
- Anti-Villainous: While more noble than other antagonists, Yuri has a tendency to use torture and other brutal methods as an SSS officer.
- Honorable: Yuri has been shown to possess a sense of honor, saying to Franklin Perkin that his father would be well-off during his sentence.
- Tragic: Along with his sister, Yuri was orphaned during the war as a young boy, which led to him developing his sister complex due to Yor becoming a mother figure toward him.
- Intelligent: While he can be very goofy at times, Yuri is generally quite intelligent and clever allowing him to land his job in the secret police.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Yuri wants to capture Twilight and protect Yor at all costs.
- Jerkish: Yuri can be a massive jerk at times, showing great hostility at Anya mostly due to her poor schoolwork.
- Believes in the Power of Individual Strength: Yuri shows a strong reliance to his intelligence and views them as his strength.
- Is a Serious Threat: Due to being a counterintelligence agent, Yuri can easily be considered Twilight's "cat".
- Short-Tempered: Yuri is known for his very hot-headed and impatient personality, whether with dealing with criminals or Yor's family.

- While Yuri is a Shonen Rival, both his voice actors have voiced Shonen Heroes, with his Japanese voice actor voicing Giorno Giovanna, and his English actor voicing Asta.
