Trafalgar D. Water Law is a major character in the manga and anime series One Piece.
He is voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya in Japan and by Matthew Mercer (and Brittany Lauda as a child) in the English dub.
What Makes Him a Shonen Rival?[]
- Anti-Heroic: Law helped Luffy defeat Kaido and also defeated Big Mom along with Kid but is generally an anti-hero.
- Honorable: Law has a genuine sense of honor, contrast to the opinions of others who say he is famous for his cruelty.
- Tragic: He has a very tragic backstory. His sister fell victim to Amber Lead poisoning along with many others and soon the World Government sent Marines to massacre the diseased and many others, including Law's entire family after paranoia from other nations.
- Jerkish: He can be a bit of a jerk at times, such as flipping off a pirate when he called him rude and casually asking another how many Marines did he kill.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Law also wants to find the One Piece and become the Pirate King.
- Cynical: Due to his tragic past, Law developed a cynical side to him.
- Believes in the Power of Individual Strength: At one point, Law said that weaklings "can't pick their way of death".
- Spiky Hair: Law has spiky black hair under his hat.
- Born into Privilege: Law was the son of the best doctor on Flevance.
- Vengeful: Law wanted to get even with Doflamingo for killing Rosinante.
Trivia[]
- Law is the icon for the Delete template. This makes sense, considering that his rival Luffy is the icon for the Delete template in Shonen Heroes Wiki.
