Simon Blackquill is a character of Ace Attorney series serving as the central antagonist turned supporting protagonist of Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies and a supporting character in Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice.

What Makes Him a Shonen Rival?[]

  • Anti-Heroic/Anti-Villainous: Simon Blackquill controversially adopts psychological manipulation in court as a prosecutor, earning him the nickname the "Twisted Samurai". Simon Blackquill attempts to protect Athena Cykes, who would eventually prove his innocence, and eventually proves the Phantom's guilty.
  • Honorable: Despite Simon Blackquill pretends to be an intimidating prosecutor, he cares Athena Cykes, which becomes one of the reasons why he claims himself to be the murder of Metis Cykes as it would protect Athena Cykes.
  • Tragic: Simon Blackquill is convicted and sentenced to death when he believes that Athena Cykes kills her mother Metis Cykes, and decides to claim that he is the murder in order to protect Athena Cykes and the psychological profile of the international spy only known as "the Phantom".
  • Intelligent: Simon Blackquill is capable of maintaining his false persona for seven years in order to protect Athena Cykes and mislead the Phantom.
  • Arrogant/Jerkish: Simon Blackquill has a dark sense of humor. His dark sense of humor is softened but still exists even after the Phantom is convicted.
  • Pursues a Big-End Goal: Simon Blackquill pursues an international spy only known as "the Phantom" to the extent that he is willing to be sentenced to death to protect Athena Cykes and mislead the Phantom.
