Metro Man, real name Wayne Scott as adoption, is the overarching protagonist of the Megamind franchise.
What Makes Him a Shonen Rival?[]
- Heroic: Metro Man has protected Metro City and its citizens for over twenty years.
- Honorable: At the end of the film, he congratulates his rival on becoming the new protector of Metro City.
- Tragic: His planet was sucked into a black hole when he was a baby.
- Naturally Talented: Metro Man was gifted with superpowers at birth, compared to Megamind, who used his intelligence to get by.
- Arrogant/Jerkish: While he subverts this trait as an adult, he constantly bullied Megamind while they were at school.
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Before the movie, he spent a decade or so fighting Megamind, while in the movie, Metro Man wants to fake his death and retire from protecting Metro City.
- Born Into Privilege: Metro Man was born on a far more affluent planet than Megamind, and landed in a mansion on Earth.
