LaCienega Boulevardez is a major character/anti-heroine of The Proud Family, serving as the rival of the series' protagonist, Penny Proud. She is voiced by Alisa Reyes.
What Makes Her a Shonen Rival?[]
- Anti-Heroic: LaCienega helped Suga Mama put an end to slavery at a senior citizens' home.
- Honorable: Despite initially being bitter enemies to Penny, LaCienega has standards of her own that she doesn't cross and deeply cares about her family.
- Intelligent: Though she is somewhat lazy, LaCienega is clever at manipulating others to get what she wants.
- Naturally Talented: LaCienega is shown to have a natural talent as a gymnast without have to go through training.
- Arrogant/Jerkish: LaCienega is rather egotistical and is bitter towards those she sees as beneath her, especially Penny.
- Cynical: Unlike Penny, who is cheerful and optimistic, LaCienega has a pessimistic outlook on life and can be distrustful of people at times.
- Redemption Arc: LaCienega becomes a more caring person and her relationship with Penny somewhat improved in the reboot, becoming more like frenemies with her and giving her support every once in a while.
- Short-Tempered: Due to her spoiled upbringing, LaCienega is shown cranky and bratty when she doesn't get her own way.
- Born into Privilege: The Boulavardez family are more financially successful than the Proud family due to LaCienega's father Felix being a successful businessman.
