Inosuke Hashibira is one of the two tritagonists of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
He is voiced by Yoshisugu Matsuoka in Japanese and Bryce Papenbrook in English.
What Makes Him a Shonen Rival?[]
- Anti-Heroic: Inosuke has killed or helped kill many demons and saved many people from them, as well as playing a direct role in saving 200 passengers on the Mugen Train, but is generally motivated by a goal to prove his strength.
- Honorable: While he starts off as rude and abrasive, as the series progresses, Inosuke develops a more caring side toward others, and also gains some level of humility after failing to defeat Father.
- Tragic: Inosuke was born to a household with an abusive father, and later after escaping him, his mother would serve Doma for a while until she found out he ate his followers, she would then escape but eventually ended up on a cliff. Having no choice, she sent Inosuke off the cliff in a last-ditch effort to save his life before being killed by Doma.
- Arrogant: Inosuke constantly believes he is the strongest fighter and also gives himself the nickname "King of the Mountains"
- Pursues a Big-End Goal: Inosuke has a strong desire to prove his strength and after finding out Doma killed his mother, wants to kill him to avenge her.
- Irritable: Given how hotheaded he is, Inosuke can get angry over small things.
- Persistent: Inosuke is extremely resolute and will stop at nothing to prove that he is the strongest combatant.
- Believes in the Power of Individual Strength: Due to being a Demon Slayer to prove how strong he is, it is safe to say Inosuke believes strongly in his strength.
- Short-Tempered: Unlike Tanjiro, who is calm and insightful, Inosuke is rash and abrasive and ready to face any threat head-on.
- Unnatural Hair Color: Black hair with blue tips.
- Is a Blood Knight: Inosuke is obsessed with fighting people and is primarily driven by his ambition to fight powerful opponents.
- Vengeful: Inosuke wants to kill Doma for killing his mother.
- Is a Token Evil Teammate: Compared to his friends, Inosuke has the least qualms when it comes to killing demons.
- Has Respect for a Shonen Hero: Even though they may butt heads with each other over some things, Inosuke ultimately views Tanjiro and Zenitsu as brothers and is willing to do anything for them.
