Ehhh, what's up doc?
Bugs' catchphrase
Bugs Bunny is a major character in the Looney Tunes franchise, serving as the main protagonist oftentimes, he also serves as the mascot of the company Warner Bros and is a rival of Daffy Duck and sometimes Cecil Turtle.
What Makes Him A Shonen Rival?[]
- Heroic/Anti-Heroic: While he often just wants to be left alone and mess around where ever he goes, which is the main driving force of his heroic deeds, and despite the chaos he's caused; he has defeated Marvin the Martian (and more competently than Daffy Duck too, as that black duck needed an alter-ego to defeat him, and even then, Porky was able to outwit him) multiple times (with a trilogy for that) and would sometimes save those in need of his help (like the Playboy Penguin in Frigid Hare and 8 Ball Bunny).
- Honorable: In Back in Action, he decides not to take credit for defeating Marvin the Martian and credits Daffy. Although this may seem to be a pronoun trouble trick, he later commends him for achieving his goal of being a hero and decides both he and Daffy are equals.
- Intelligent: He is the smartest Looney Tunes character in the whole franchise, save Cecil Turtle (and even then, that's become inconsistent by The Looney Tunes Show). Generally, he's able to outsmart almost all of his foes through his trickery (most of the time, because Elmer Fudd one-ups him in Hare Brush, Rabbit Rampage, and What's Opera Doc), and aside from a few minor slip-ups, is considered a Guile Hero for how incredibly intelligent and clever many of his plots and schemes to defeat the villains really are.
- Naturally Talented: Has always been outsmarting his foes ever since 1940. Though it can be argued this is retconned in Tiny Toons Looniversity, where it portrayed Bugs Bunny as less confident the first time he stepped into Looniversity. However, that's outside of his acting days. Inside of the cartoons he has a role in, he's portrayed to be super resourceful and astute in terms of trickery, and his quick-thinking allowed him to create many ways to have numerous villains tricked into defeat with his exceptional improvisation tricks and mischief-making he makes good use into an essential superpower for survival.
- Arrogant/Jerkish: He is known for being flippant, insouciant, often just enjoys messing with Elmer Fudd, even when he did nothing wrong to him, for his own entertainment and amusement (this was in Wabbit Twouble, the cartoon with the famous Big Chungus meme), and wanted to face against Cecil Turtle and challenge him to a race in Tortoise Beats Hare in a rather arrogant way.
- Pursues A Big-End Goal: In the Tiny Toons franchise, Bugs seems to just want the students at Acme Loo to learn how to be great as slapstick cartoon characters.
- Believes in the Power of Individual Strength: Is made out to be such in some of the Tortoise and Hare cartoons in the 1940s, as he thinks he could beat Cecil, because rabbits are faster than turtles.
- Redemption Arc: He starts to become more honorable towards and accepting of Daffy as being his equal throughout Back in Action.
- Irritable: A far cry from his usual self, and an unusual trait to claim he has compared to his rivals being more easily angered than Bugs typically is, but in Tortoise and Hare cartoons; he was seriously enraged at the thought of Cecil, a turtle, one-upping him (which makes sense since many of Bugs' enemies are typically way too easy for Bugs to outsmart and win over).
- Spiky Hair: Bugs has spiky tuft of fur on his head.
- Celibate: Is somewhat inconsistent with this trait in the 50s, but eventually subverts this by 1996 and becomes much more aware of romance/sexuality.
- Is A Blood Knight: Used to be often just a prankster who could pick fights with people, especially with his prototypes (though he still has notable examples, like in the aforementioned Wabbit Twouble). Even then, the fact that he often uses violence to attack those who deserve it, which probably means he loves using pranks as a form of combat and gets a thrill out of playing tricks on his enemies.
- Is A Mentor: To Buster and Babs in the Tiny Toons franchise.
- Is A Delinquent: The aforementioned Rebel Rabbit shows that he is definitely one.
- Has Respect for the Shonen Hero: Gains one in Back in Action for Daffy Duck.
- Is A Chick Magnet: Has attracted a few ladies in the series, memorable examples include Lola Bunny, a literal mama bear in the episode "Bugs Bunny and the Three Bears", and he even got two human ladies to fight over him in The Looney Tunes Show.
